Our Therapeutic Approach
Exodus Counseling Center utilizes evidence-based practices rooted in a person-centered philosophy.
We believe that you, as the client, are the expert on your own life, and our role is to provide a safe, judgment-free space for you to access and develop your inherent strengths.
To achieve this, we draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including:

Play Therapy
Play can be a powerful tool in healing and processing past and current trauma. Through the utilization of various items, such as dolls, a sandbox, and puppets, children and adolescents learn how to share their experiences in an effective, non-verbal manner. This approach allows young clients to express themselves freely and work through challenges in a developmentally appropriate way.

Person-Centered Therapy
Person-Centered Therapy holds to the belief that as the client, you know yourself best. The therapist trusts you to be the expert on your own experiences and needs. This approach provides a safe, non-judgmental space for you to freely process your thoughts and feelings, empowering you to take an active role in your own growth and healing.
Tailored Support Through Your Journey
Children
Watching your child struggle with overwhelming emotions, behavioral challenges, or social difficulties can be absolutely heartbreaking as a parent. You want nothing more than to see your little one happy, confident, and thriving, but it can feel so helpless when anxiety, anger, or feelings of isolation consume them. Our play-based approach at Exodus Counseling Center provides a safe, nurturing environment where young clients can express themselves, process their experiences, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Through the use of toys, art materials, and other creative mediums, we'll help your child learn to navigate their big feelings and build the skills they need to succeed socially and emotionally.
The teenage years can be a uniquely challenging time, filled with intense emotions, academic pressures, and shifting social dynamics. As a parent, it's gut-wrenching to witness your once-vibrant child become withdrawn, anxious, or depressed. And as a teen yourself, you may feel crippled by self-doubt, overwhelmed by the constant need to perform, and disconnected from the supportive relationships you crave. At Exodus Counseling Center, we provide a judgment-free space for adolescents to unpack these obstacles, build self-awareness, and cultivate the resilience they need to not just survive, but thrive, during this transformative stage of life.
The transition to college and early adulthood is supposed to be an exciting new chapter, but for many, it can feel incredibly overwhelming. You may be grappling with anxiety about your future, struggling with depression that drains your motivation, or feeling strained in your relationships with family as new expectations and dynamics emerge. The constant pressure to succeed academically and socially can leave you feeling isolated and exhausted. But you don't have to navigate these challenges alone. Our therapists at Exodus Counseling Center are here to help you find clarity, manage stress, and develop the coping skills you need to embrace this next phase of your journey with confidence and purpose.
